Frequently asked questions
Where does the data come from?
River level readings come from the OPW (Office of Public Works) telemetry
network, updated every 15 minutes. Flood probability forecasts are generated
by our machine-learning model trained on historical gauge readings.
Topographic flood extents use the Copernicus GLO-30 30m elevation model.
How accurate are the flood probability forecasts?
Forecasts are probability estimates, not guarantees. They perform best
for well-instrumented river systems with long historical records.
Always follow official OPW and local authority guidance during flood events.
When will paid plans launch?
